LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- No doubt encouraged by "Tommy Lee Goes to College's" debut numbers last night, NBC is set to encore the show's first two episodes next week, displacing fellow newcomer "Meet Mister Mom" in the process.
"Mom," which has been languishing in the Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c slot since its August 2 premiere, will move to Wednesdays at 8:00/7:00c beginning next week (August 24). Back-to-back repeats of "Tommy Lee's" first two episodes then will fill in for "Mom" on August 23 while repeats of "Most Outrageous TV Moments" (originally slated for August 24) will fill the Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c hour on August 30. Original episodes of "Tommy Lee" will continue to air on Tuesdays at 9:00/8:00c.
NBC isn't the only place to catch repeats of "Tommy Lee's" first two installments as VH1, as part of its repurposing deal with NBC Universal Television, will encore each week's broadcast on Fridays at 10:00/9:00c beginning August 19.
5.66 million viewers on average tuned into "Tommy Lee's" launch yesterday according to preliminary Nielsen data. More importantly the show built its audience between half-hours - 11% in households and 20% among adults 18-49. Nevertheless, said numbers couldn't top "Big Brother 6" in the 9:00/8:00c hour (8.97 million, 5.9 household rating/10 share, 3.5 adults 18-49 rating).
Eddie October, BT, Richard Bishop are "Tommy Lee's" executive producers. Ben Silverman, Robert Riesenberg and James Bruce are the executive producers of "Mom," a co-production of Reveille LLC, Full Circle Entertainment and James Bruce Productions.
