Two New Cartoon Network Series Strike Double-Digit Delivery Gains with Kids 6-11 Over Summer Season of Original Episodes
The Life & Times of Juniper Lee and Camp Lazlo Prove Strength of Cartoon Network Originals
Cartoon Network launched two new original half-hour series during the 2005 summer season�The Life & Times of Juniper Lee the week of May 30 and Camp Lazlo the week of July 4�both of which scored double-digit delivery gains throughout the summer period with their target kids 6-11 demo, according to Nielsen Media Research. Each show also became a programming anchor within their respective telecast nights, The Life & Times of Juniper Lee premiering new episodes on Sundays at 7:30, and Camp Lazlo presenting new episodes on Fridays at 8 p.m.
Highlights of each new series� average performance throughout the summer vs. the same time period on Cartoon Network last year include the following:
The Life & Times of Juniper Lee (Sundays, 7:30 p.m., new episodes telecast May 30 � Aug. 22)
- Kids 6-11 delivery (590,000) increased by 13% and ratings (2.4) by 9%.
- Boys 6-11 delivery (422,000) expanded by 16% and ratings (3.4) by 13%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (927,000) improved by 3% and ratings (2.3) remained unchanged.
Camp Lazlo (Fridays, 8 p.m., new episodes telecast July 4 � Aug. 28)
- Kids 6-11 delivery (849,000) leapt by 11% and ratings (3.5) by 9%.
- Girls 6-11 delivery (243,000) grew by 19% and ratings (2.1) by 17%
- Kids 2-11 delivery (1,193,000) rose by 5% and ratings (3.0) by 3%.
