OUT OF RESPECT FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA, HALLMARK CHANNEL PULLS WORLD PREMIERE MOVIE, LANDSLIDE FROM PROGRAM SCHEDULE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Following the Hallmark Channels decision last week to pull its on-air promotions
for Landslide, a two-hour, World Premiere Movie event scheduled for Saturday,
September 10, the network today announced that the movie has also been pulled from
the programming schedule until further notice.
David Kenin, Executive Vice President, Programming, the Hallmark Channels
said, Out of respect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Hallmark Channel will preempt
its movie Landslide. Story elements of this movie are vaguely and uncomfortably
similar to the natural disaster in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Gulf Coast at
large. Our hearts and thoughts are with those affected by this natural disaster.
