DESTINI ROGERS AND RYAN CONFERIDO ARE ELIMINATED FROM "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE"
COMPETITION HEATS UP AS REMAINING 8 FINALISTS PERFORM Two More Finalists to be Eliminated Wednesday, Sept. 21, on FOX
When America's vote was revealed last night, Destini Rogers and Ryan Conferido were eliminated from the competition on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. In the partner dance round, Rogers performed the quickstep and a hip-hop dance with Jamile McGee, while Conferido performed a lyrical dance and the fox trot with Melody Lacayanga. Tune in next week to see who dances on, and who goes home Wednesday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Rogers is from Tulsa, OK. She works as a choreographer/teacher at Applause Studios and hopes to start her own professional dance company. She enjoys dancing in front of large crowds and used to perform locally with the R&B group Meant 2B. Referring to her hip-hop performance, judge Nigel Lythgoe said: "Destini, you shocked me. I expected Jamile to be good but you were better.""
Conferido is from Downey, CA. He has no formal dance training and recently discovered dancing. He considers his personal dance style as an abstract form of hip-hop and enjoys break dancing. Last week, choreographer/judge Brian Friedman said of Conferido's performance, "I didn't see your backbone. I felt like you were sleeping though the lyrical dance."
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro.
