NEW YORK - September 22, 2005 - Lynda Carter ("Sky High," "The Dukes of Hazzard") - in a devilish departure from Wonder Woman and the honorable protagonists the actress has portrayed in the past - takes a villainous turn alongside Estella Warren ("Her Minor Thing") as a devious mother-daughter con-artist team in back-to-back episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order" (Sept. 27-28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT). Carter and Warren first appear on "SVU" and narrowly escape prosecution, only to resurface on "Law & Order" in the midst of another deadly scheme that lures Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Fin (Ice-T) back as their pawns for the ultimate insult and double cross. "Having so often been the heroine, I thoroughly enjoyed playing a grifter and exploring some of the darker aspects of human nature," said Lynda Carter. "Working on these great shows with such wonderful actors was pure joy."
On "SVU" (Tues., Sept. 27 at 10 p.m. ET/PT), a distraught and pregnant April Troost (Warren) is found on a ledge threatening to commit suicide. After Detective Olivia Benson talks her down, Troost tearfully reveals that she's been raped and is pregnant with her assailant's child. Troost accuses Barclay Palmer (guest star Julian Sands), a wealthy and successful businessman, of the crime, and while he denies involvement, DNA tests prove he is the father and the case goes to trial. The case proves more complex and Troost's credibility diminishes when it's evident she's willing to settle for money and her equally dubious mother Lorraine Dillon (Lynda Carter) surfaces, prompting suspicion from Benson and Stabler (Chris Meloni).
The following night on "Law & Order" (Wed., Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. ET), a man is found dead in an abandoned high-rise office space, and Detective Benson is called upon when Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse Martin) discover her number displayed on the DOA's cell phone. The trail leads them to a money-laundering ring and two cunning women - Dillon (Carter) and Troost (Warren) - who previously avoided conviction in Benson's case. Later, when A.D.A. McCoy (Sam Waterston) feels he pushes the persuasive Dillon too hard on the stand, it's up to A.D.A. Borgia (Annie Parisse) to convince the jury of the duo's deceiving ways. Ice-T also stars.
"Law & Order" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" are produced by Wolf Films in association with NBC Universal Television Studio.
