ABC Television Network Wins Two Technical & Engineering Emmys

ABC TELEVISION NETWORK WINS TWO TECHNICAL & ENGINEERING EMMYS

The ABC Television Network has won two 2005 Technical & Engineering Emmys from the National Academy for Television Arts & Sciences.

The two awards, given to the network�s Broadcast Operations and Engineering Division, were for Broadcast Slow Motion Color Recording & Playback and Closed Captioning Standardization.

�We�re very proud of these awards, and especially of the history of innovations from our very talented team in Broadcast Operations and Engineering,� said Preston Davis, president of Broadcast Operations and Engineering for the ABC Television Network.

The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards honor excellence in development and innovations in broadcast technology. Launched in 1948, the annual event recognizes companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have a significant effect on television engineering. The Advanced Media Technology Emmy Awards were created to recognize work being done in Interactive Television, New Media and related programming and technology.

In the Technology and Engineering division, eight Emmys were awarded. There were four Emmys presented in Advanced Media Technology categories.

The winners for both divisions will be announced today, September 29, at the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey.
