NBC PRESENTS SPECIAL MILITARY EPISODE OF "THREE WISHES" ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26 (8 P.M. ET/7 CENTRAL), GIVING AWAY HOMES - AND MORE - TO MARINES RETURNING HOME FROM IRAQ
Special Episode Will Honor Marines From Division Which Has Lost 48 Men in Combat
BURBANK - October 19, 2006 - NBC will air a special military episode of "Three Wishes" on Wednesday, October 26 (8-9 p.m. ET) giving away homes - and more - to Marines returning home from Iraq. The Marines honored are from the 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment stationed in Brook Park, OH, a division that has suffered some of the most staggering losses in the ongoing war in Iraq.
The "Three Wishes" team -- Amy Grant, Carter Oosterhouse, Eric Stromer and Diane Mizota - travel to Ohio to honor these men as they return home from their tours of duty in Iraq. The show was granted special military access to this emotional homecoming as the Marines, still mourning the loss of 48 in their division, are reunited with family and friends.
One Marine steps off a plane from his tour of duty and meets his infant son for the first time, but that's just the beginning. The "Three Wishes" team - along with countless friends and neighbors - present him with a house, giving him an amazing homecoming he'll never forget. Two close-knit cousins who thought they were returning home to live in the family basement instead learn they have a new home - plus two other incredible surprises.
"Three Wishes" also presents a dream home to the widow - now raising two young children alone -- of an Army soldier killed by a roadside bomb while training Iraqi Police forces in Baghdad. Then another young Marine gets the surprise of his life when "Three Wishes" helps his fianc?e throw him a surprise wedding in front of his friends, family and fellow Marines. Country music star Craig Morgan makes a special appearance in this special military episode.
"Three Wishes" will return to its regular timeslot - Fridays at 9 p.m. ET - the following week. Andrew Glassman (NBC's "Average Joe 1-4") and Jason Raff ("Average Joe: 1-4") are the executive producers of the series for Glassman Media and NBC Universal Television Studio.
