AMC Extends Movies That Shook the World�
AMC has added four more episodes of its new original series, Movies That Shook the World, to its programming line-up for a total of 13 episodes. The half-hour weekly documentary series, which explores the most influential movies of all time, airs on the network Fridays at 10 pm ET/PT. The success of the series, combined with the acknowledgement of the multitude of powerful films yet to be explored, led AMC to add episodes profiling four more movies: Philadelphia, Shaft, The Blair Witch Project and Pink Flamingos.
Through in-depth interviews and revealing clips, Movies That Shook the World explores why certain landmark movies were so explosive when they were released, the new paths they blazed, and why they remain so influential today. Additional seminal films spotlighted in the series include: Birth of a Nation, Do the Right Thing, Fatal Attraction, The Graduate, The China Syndrome, Last Temptation of Christ, 2001: Space Odyssey, The Exorcist, and American Graffiti. Narrated by actor Jeff Goldblum, the series features members of the creative community including directors Spike Lee and Adrian Lyne; actors Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Anne Archer, Rosie Perez; as well as politicians, authors and scholars, who weigh in on the cultural changes that these films reflected.
