ELTON JOHN'S SPECTACULAR LAS VEGAS SHOW COMES TO NBC ON DECEMBER 14 FOR "ELTON JOHN: THE RED PIANO"
BURBANK, Calif. -- November 14, 2005 -- Music sensation Elton John brings his popular and critically acclaimed Las Vegas show to television with his first NBC special, "Elton John: The Red Piano," on December 14 (8-9 p.m. ET).
Heralded as "the most exciting show in Las Vegas" by the Las Vegas Review Journal, the enormity of Elton John's stage performance will be brought to television with the 36 high-definition cameras used to film the special. The special will feature Elton John's show from Caesars Palace, incorporating his incredible performance and best-known repertoire from his more than three decade career with spectacular videos from acclaimed director David LaChappelle including two that feature Justin Timberlake as a young Elton John during "Rocket Man" and Pamela Anderson performing a pole dance during
"The Bitch is Back."
As one of the top-selling solo artists of all time with over 200 million records sold worldwide, Elton has garnered a wide array of industry awards including Grammys, Tonys and an Oscar and continues to add innovative work to his personal repertoire of 35 gold and 25 platinum albums. In December of 2004, Elton received the Kennedy Center Honor for his lifetime contributions to American culture and excellence through the performing arts.
Emmy Award winner Rocky Oldman (NBC's "Cher: The Farewell Tour") is the show
executive producer and Dave Mallet is the director.
