"Martha" Scores Highest Ratings Since Debut, Matching Series-High Ratings In Key Women Demo
"Access Hollywood" Scores Best Ratings in Households and Key Demos Since Last February
"Maury" and "The Jerry Springer Show" Also Hit Season Highs
Universal City, CA. -- November 22, 2005 NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "Access Hollywood," "Maury," "The Jerry Springer Show" and new daily series "Martha" all got out of the gate strong in November, scoring season high ratings in households and key demographics during the first full week of the sweeps period, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
For the week of November 7-13, "Access Hollywood" scored its highest rating of the season in households (2.8), up 4% over the same week last year, and averaged a season best 3.7 million viewers per episode. The series also had its best rating of the season with Women 25-54 (2.0), up 5% over the same week last year.
"Martha" delivered 1.8 household rating, up 6% over the previous week, with an average 2.2 million viewers per telecast, the highest numbers for the series since its September premiere week. In addition, "Martha" tied series high ratings in Women 25-54 (1.1), up 10% week to week, and Women 18-49 (0.9).
"Maury" achieved season-high ratings in households (2.9), up 12% over the same week last year, in total viewers (average 3.9 million viewers per episode) and Women 18-49 (2.1), up 17% over the same week last year. In addition "Maury" tied season-high ratings in Women 18-34 (2.2) and in Women 25-54 (1.9), up 19% over the same week last year.
"The Jerry Springer Show" hit a season high rating in households 2.1, up 17% over the same week last year, and averaged a season best 2.8 million viewers per episode. "Jerry" was up 9% over the same week last year with Women 18-34 (1.2) and tied season high ratings with Women 18-49 (1.3), up 30% over the same week last year, and among Women 25-54 (1.2), up 20% over the same week last year.
