New York Wipes Out Philadelphia to Take EXTREME DODGEBALL Season III Championship
The Bling With Mia St. John Knock Out Trotter's Benjamins 57-37
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 23 -- In the end it was about the
ring and not the money as the New York Bling defeated the Philadelphia
Benjamins to win the championship on GSN's third season of EXTREME DODGEBALL.
New York dominated the game jumping out to an early first quarter lead and
never trailed in the match that ended with a 57-37 victory on GSN Tuesday
night.
"I'm so excited," said Mia St. John, the professional boxer and celebrity
player captain for the Bling. "We knocked their asses out!"
Commissioner Rip Torn presented New York with the championship trophy on
the court following their dominating win.
"We are proud of the successful season we had," said Jeremiah Trotter, the
celebrity player captain of the Philadelphia Benjamins. "We'll come back next
year to win it all."
New York was lead by Portis Hershey and former NFL player Tyrone Rush.
New York's strong offense also carried them to a 62-39 victory over Tara
Dakides and the Denver Hurlers in the semi-finals.
The New York Bling celebrated with a $10,000 winner's check and playground
bragging rights. New York, who won the regular season with a 8-2, won over
$50,000 for the season. This was the first season of the new four quarters
