LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- In the latest round of episode cuts, CBS has rolled back its commitment to its Wednesday comedy "Still Standing" to 18 episodes.
The news comes on the heels of the Eye's decision to roll back fellow Wednesday comedy "Yes, Dear's" season order to just 13 installments earlier this month (read the story).
To date this season, "Standing" has averaged a mediocre 7.31 million viewers, just short of "Yes, Dear's" current 7.82 million viewer average. Nevertheless, both shows currently rank as the network's least-watched this season.
Overall, CBS will actually have 19 installments of "Standing" to air this season - the show's November 2 broadcast ("Still Aging"), was actually shot last season but never aired.
Meanwhile in other CBS-related news, the Eye has confirmed it has pulled the plug on its freshman drama "Threshold." The network announced late last week it was pulling the series for the rest of the November sweeps period (read the story), making the announcement not much of a surprise.
Various repeats and specials will fill the Tuesday, 10:00/9:00c hour for the foreseeable future. Overall, "Threshold" averaged 7.77 million viewers over the course of its run, ahead of only the aforementioned "Yes, Dear" and "Still Standing" amongst all CBS series.
In total, four episodes of its original 13-episode order will remain on the shelf.
