Pat Morita, 'Karate Kid' Star and Beloved 'Happy Days' Cook, is Remembered on GSN the Week of Dec. 5th
Morita Tribute Features Classic Game Show Appearances on 'MATCH GAME'
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 29 -- GSN will be airing a
week-long MATCH GAME tribute to actor Pat Morita, who passed away Thursday at
the age of 73. Beginning Monday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 9 from
3:30-4:00 PM ET/PT, GSN will air some classic episodes of Morita as a panelist
on the Gene Rayburn-hosted show, MATCH GAME. The network will air one of the
five original 1976 MATCH GAMES each day of the week.
Morita was best known for his Academy Award-nominated role as Mr. Miyagi
in the "Karate Kid" movies and for his role as restaurant owner "Arnold" on
the hit television series "Happy Days". In addition to his film career and
game show appearances on MATCH GAME, Morita was a special guest on more than
70 television series including "Hawaii Five-O", "M*A*S*H", "Sanford and Son"
and "Baywatch". He also served as a voice talent on the Disney animated
movies "Mulan" and "Mulan II".
