The Style Network Helps Shake the Break-Up Blues in the New Reality Series, 'Relationship Rehab,' Hosted by Author/Relationship Expert Wendy Diamond
Half-Hour Series Focusing on Real Life Break-Ups to Debut on
Tuesday, January 3, 2006
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 -- The Style Network is coming to the
rescue of the broken-hearted in "Relationship Rehab," an irreverent,
adventurous and informative new half-hour reality series (ten episodes) slated
to debut in January 2006, it was announced today by Lisa Berger, Senior Vice
President, Programming Development, E! Networks. "Relationship Rehab" will
premiere on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at 9:00PM ET/PT.
"'Relationship Rehab' is about getting over it and getting on with it,"
said Berger. "The series will explore love in a fun and lighthearted way, and
offer helpful insight on how to cope after a significant break-up."
Hosted by off-beat author and relationship guru Wendy Diamond,
"Relationship Rehab" performs broken heart surgery on those who find
themselves unable to rise up from the emotional ashes of their most recent
love affair. When mourning becomes wallowing, Diamond is there to step in and
help the lovesick "snap out of it!" Joined by the subject's two best friends,
Diamond takes each lovesick soul through a series of challenges designed to
help them achieve the five essential "Re's" of a successful relationship
rebound: Release, Reclaim, Restore, Revamp and Re-Enter. Physical,
emotional, serious and seriously funny, Relationship Rehab may not change
someone's life, but it might just change the way they look at it.
Diamond, whose dog Lucky appears with her on the series, is the author of
"What a Lucky Dog!: How to Understand Men Through Their Dogs." She is also
the founder and editor of "Animal Fair" magazine. Diamond also recently
wrapped the documentary, "In Search of Puppy Love," due to be released in
February 2006. She has regularly appeared on television shows including
"Good Morning America," "The View," "The Tony Danza Show" and "The Jane Pauley
Show," to dispense her relationship advice.
"Relationship Rehab" is produced by Kingfish Productions, Inc. for E!
Entertainment Television, Inc. Kingfish Production's Phil Berger and Natalie
Kosson will serve as executive producers for the series with the show's
creator and co-executive producer Brianne Leary.
Leary created "Relationship Rehab" following the emotional end of her own
relationship. An actress, writer, host, journalist and producer, Leary's
credits include CNN, where she covered the war in Afghanistan in 2002; "Good
Day New York" (co-anchor); "Good Morning America" (correspondent); "Celebrity
Wings" (host) for Discovery Networks; "Petsburg USA" (host) on Animal Planet;
and "Best for Less" (host) on Fine Living Network. Leary is also co-creator
of the internationally award-winning animated series, "Stickin' Around," and
is currently writing her memoirs, "Growing Up Without a Net," for Algonquin.
As a team under Kingfish Productions, Phil Berger and Natalie Kosson
executive produced "Crowned" and "Nightclub" for MTV. Berger spent a career
in government and politics before segueing to independent film where he wrote,
produced and directed "Maestro," an award-winning short film distributed by
Warner Bros. Kosson's television credits include producing "The Oprah Winfrey
Show," "Inside Edition," "American Journal," "Rolonda" and "Living it Up!
With Ali and Jack."
Ann Lewis Roberts, Vice President, Programming Development, is the Style
Network executive producer for the series.
