NEW YORK, Dec. 13 -- Marking Lifetime Television's rarefied membership as one of only two basic cable networks to receive dual 2005 Golden Globe nominations, Mira Sorvino and Donald Sutherland were nominated for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television, respectively, for their roles in the network's critically-acclaimed "Human Trafficking," which became basic cable's most watched original movie of the year when it premiered on October 24th and 25th, averaging 5.5 million total viewers.

The nominations were announced Tuesday by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Winners of the Golden Globes will be announced on January 16th.

A tough, uncompromising drama about the brutal realities behind the international trafficking of women and children for sex, "Human Trafficking" also starred BAFTA Award(R)-winning actor Robert Carlyle.

"Human Trafficking" was produced by Muse Entertainment for Lifetime Television. Executive Producer was Robert Halmi, Sr. ("The Lion in Winter," "Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven"). Christian Duguay (Lifetime's "Lies My Mother Told Me," "Joan of Arc," "Hitler") directed from a teleplay by Carol Doyle ("Veronica Guerin," "Washington Square") and Agatha Dominik ("The Sum of All Men," "I Know This Much is True"). Story by Carol Doyle. "Human Trafficking" was produced by Irene Litinsky ("The Wool Cap," "Baby For Sale"), Michael Prupas ("This is Wonderland," "Tales from the Neverending Story") and Christian Duguay.
