GSN Honors Actress Shelley Winters With Game Show Tribute
Tribute Includes Special Guest Appearances on 'I've Got a Secret',
'What's My Line' and 'Password'
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 18 -- Shelley Winters is
remembered by GSN with a special tribute airing Winters' game show appearances
on I'VE GOT A SECRET, WHAT'S MY LINE, and PASSWORD from 1955 to 1967. GSN has
dusted off the reels and will re-broadcast these classic game shows January
20th and 21st at 3:00AM ET/PT.
Winters, who passed away Saturday of natural causes, is best known for her
academy-award winning performances in The Diary of Anne Frank and A Patch of
Blue. Winter's first major role was co-starring in A Double Life, a part
which typecast her as the perfect vulnerable victim. Winters eventually shed
her defenseless persona and emerged as a prominent actress during the glory
days of Hollywood. Her career spanned almost 50 years and included roles in A
Place in the Sun, The Great Gatsby, Alfie, Pete's Dragon, and King of Gypsies.
GSN's tribute begins on Friday, January 20 with Winters attempting to
trick the panel on I'VE GOT A SECRET, followed by a WHAT'S MY LINE mystery
guest appearance. On Saturday, January 21, Winters appears as a celebrity
panelist on PASSWORD, immediately followed by a mystery guest appearance with
her husband, Anthony Franciosa, on WHAT'S MY LINE.
