UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- January 24, 2006 -- Flash back to one of the most entertaining sitcoms of the 1980s when Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season comes to DVD for the first time on February 14, 2006, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Teen idol Scott Baio ("Joanie Loves Chachi," "Happy Days") stars as Charles, the live-in helper for the Pembroke family who, while guiding the kids through the joys and trials of growing up, learns some valuable life lessons of his own. Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season features all 22 original episodes, including the totally hilarious pilot, plus a bonus preview episode from Season 2 -- with Charles' new family, the Powells!

Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season features series regulars Willie Aames ("Eight is Enough"), as Charles' best friend, Buddy, Jennifer Runyon as his college sweetheart, Gwendolyn and Julie Cobb, James Widdoes, April Lerman, Jonathan Ward and Michael Pearlman as the Pembrokes. Guest stars for the first season include a who's who of up-and-coming television and movie stars such as Meg Ryan (You've Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally), Matthew Perry ("Friends") and Christina Applegate ("Married with Children") as well as star turns from classic television personalities including Rue McClanahan ("The Golden Girls").

In addition, the DVD includes "The Great '80s TV Flashback," a 30-minute look back at television's greatest decade, the eighties. Nostalgic, touching and irresistibly funny, Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season will have viewers tapping their feet to the show's memorable theme song and wishing that Charles was still in charge! SYNOPSIS
Teen idol Scott Baio ("Happy Days") doesn't know what he's in for when he takes a job as live-in housekeeper and babysitter for the Pembroke household. Three active kids and two busy professional parents add up to a season full of hilarious mishaps and mayhem as Charles discovers he could use a little help himself! Whether hanging out with his wacky college pal Buddy (Willie Aames), romancing his dream girl Gwendolyn (Jennifer Runyon) or trying to keep up with the three mischievous Pembroke kids, Charles can be counted on to deliver the laughs. Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season includes appearances by rising young stars including Meg Ryan, Christina Applegate and Matthew Perry.
