NEW YORK, February 22, 2006 -- Jenna Jameson is coming to COMEDY CENTRAL! The network will launch its first original animated mobile series "Samurai Love God," it was announced today by Lou Wallach, senior vice president, original programming and development, COMEDY CENTRAL. The mobile series will premiere in first quarter 2006 and launch cross carriers with eight two-and-a-half minute episodes.
COMEDY CENTRAL, which recently unveiled its 2006 original broadband programming slate, has become a trailblazer in the digital content arena. The launch of its first original animated mobile series further demonstrates the networks commitment to developing and producing original quality programming exclusively for multi-platforms.
"The comedy genre works very well in short-form. It's a great visual and audio medium," said Wallach. "We are thrilled that top comedians, actors and writers view COMEDY CENTRAL as a leading destination for their digital content. 'Samurai Love God' is the first of many mobile talent deals we look forward to announcing."
"Samurai Love God" comes from a distant and erotic land where the ancient secrets of seduction are passed down through generations of Kama Sutra, oyster popping, orgy-loving horn dogs. He's the Dali Licky Lama, the Gandhi from Behindi. For men everywhere, he is their messiah, savior and sensei. He is The Samurai Love God.
Voicing the animated characters will be "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" correspondent Ed Helms as The Samurai Love God, adult film star Jenna Jameson as P-Whip, comedian Lisa Lampanelli as Kay-Ock Block and comedian Christian Finnegan as Chip and James.
"Samurai Love God" is a series of animated shorts created by Eric Mahoney. The mobile series will launch in the first quarter of 2006 with eight two-and-a-half minute episodes.
COMEDY CENTRAL, the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 87 million homes nationwide. COMEDY CENTRAL is owned by Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of MTV Networks.
