CBS Sports Metered Market Ratings Up

2006 NCAA� March Madness on Demand Sets Internet Record

CBS Sports' exclusive live coverage of the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 16 (12:00 Noon-6:00 PM, ET, and 7:00 PM-12:30 AM, ET) earned an average overnight household rating/share of 4.9/10, up +2% from last years 4.8/10. The 4.9/10 is the third best overall rating for the first day of the tournament since a 5.1/12 in 1993.

CBS Sports� second broadcast window (3:15-6:00 PM, ET) highlighted by a Tennessee edging Winthrop, earned an average overnight household rating/share of 4.1/10, up +8% from last year�s 3.8/10. The 4.1/10 was the highest rating in the second broadcast window since a 1991, when CBS began broadcasting the afternoon windows.

The third broadcast window of the day (7:00-10:30 PM, ET) earned an average overnight household rating/share of 6.4/10, up +8% from a 5.9/10 in 2005.The 6.4/10 is the highest rating in the this window since a 7.3/12 in 2002. The rating also was the second highest rating in the game window since a 6.7/11 in 1994.

CBS SportsLine, a leading Internet sports media organization and part of CBS Digital Media, in partnership with CBS Sports, CSTV and the NCAA� announced that NCAA� March Madness� on Demand, the online video player that provides streaming live video of the first 56 games of the 2006 NCAA� Division I Men's Basketball Championship set an Internet record for a scheduled live entertainment or sports event with over 268,000 simultaneous streams. In total, NCAA� March Madness� on Demand has already surpassed 1.2 million video streams served.
