GSN Pays Tribute to Music Star and 'Hee Haw' Host Buck Owens in a Week-Long 'MATCH GAME' Tribute April 3-7
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 27 -- As a tribute to country
music star Buck Owens, GSN will be airing special episodes of MATCH GAME,
Monday through Friday at 3:30pm ET, April 3rd through April 7th, 2006. These
episodes will pre-empt the regularly scheduled episodes of MATCH GAME.
Owens, whose style of music was honky-tonk with rock influences and was
popularly called "The Bakersfield Sound," had more than 20 number-one hits
during the 60s and 70s, including "Act Naturally" and "Love's Gonna Live
Here." He was also the star of the popular TV series "Hee Haw." Owens passed
away on Saturday at the age of 76.
