Adult Swim Announces Five Additional Comedy Series Premieres for 2006

Death Clock Metalocalypse, Frisky Dingo, Assy McGee, Saul of the Mole Men and Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil On Tap for Top-Rated Cable Network

At the Adult Swim Upfront presentation today in New York, network executives announced five new series to join the late night services lineup later in 2006: Death Clock Metalocalypse, Frisky Dingo, Assy McGee, Saul of the Mole Men and Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil. These shows join Minoriteam and Moral Orel, launched earlier in 2006, in a strong slate of original comedy series.

Death Clock Metalocalypse: Dethklok is a Norwegian heavy metal band. They are incredibly talented and insanely popular. But Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles are also stupid dangerously stupid. No matter what they do, be it playing sold-out festival gigs or going to the grocery store, Dethklok leaves a path of destruction and murder behind. The series Death Clock Metalocalypse will debut in August. Brendon Small, known as for his role as Brendon Small on the Adult Swim series Home Movies, and Tommy Blacha are co-creators and executive producers. Mark Hamill joins Small and Blacha on the voice cast. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica make guest appearances. Blacha and Small also write and perform Dethkloks extensive oeuvre of heavy metal music for the show. The series is being produced at Titmouse, Inc. in Los Angeles. Twenty episodes have been ordered.

Frisky Dingo: From the creators of one of Adult Swims founding original series, Sealab 2021, Frisky Dingo will premiere in September. Killface is the most evil villain of all time, and hes determined to destroy the Earth by propelling it into the sun. The problem is, hes a little short on funding these days and, to be honest, his enthusiasm for the plan is waning a bit. Doing everything he can to stop himor at least keeping up appearancesis Awesome-X, the alter ego of billionaire Xander Crews. But Xander has his own ambivalence about stopping Killface: doing so might hurt his ability to sell more Awesome-X toys, the means by which he props up his billionaire playboy lifestyle. Frisky Dingo is co-created by Matt Thompson and Adam Reed. Thirteen episodes are in production at Atlanta-based 70-30 Productions.

Assy McGee: In a world gone soft, Assy McGee delivers a unique brand of street justice. The new Adult Swim series, which will join the lineup in December, features Assy McGee as a renegade police sniper with no patience for criminals or the so-called justice system that coddles them. And he happens to look like a huge ass. Assy McGee is notorious for his propensity to take whatever action necessary to keep crime at bay. All he needs is his bolt-action SKS assault weapon and his ever-present toothpick. Assy McGee is produced by Carl Adams, Jon Benjamin and Matt Harrigan. Ten episodes are in production at Soup2Nuts in Boston, Mass.

Saul of the Mole Men: On a mission to the Earths core for the governments STRATA agency, Saul Malone crashes his drill ship and stumbles upon the Mole Men. Baffled by their customs and rituals, Saul runs afoul of the Mole Men by injuring their elder leader, killing their god and spreading disease. But Saul of the Mole Men is about more than just a stranded scientist. It involves political intrigue, time travel, and, of course, vampires. Saul of the Mole Men, created by Craig Lewis, uses the most advanced mid-20th century technology, such as green screens and puppets, to deftly combine live-action and animation. Twenty episodes are in production. The series will debut in late 2006.

Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil: What is evil incarnate to do when his daughter, Lucy, barely tolerates him and is dating a hippie DJ who could be the Second Coming? Well, first he tries to break up his daughters new relationship by unleashing the dogs of hell, then he probably watches a little TV and goes to sleep early. Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil, created using CGI animation, comes from Loren Bouchard, producer of Home Movies and Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, and stars Jon Benjamin (the voice of Coach McGuirk on Home Movies) as the Devil. Ten episodes are in production. The series will debut in late 2006.

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.s network offering original and acquired animated comedy and action series for young adults. Airing overnights six days a week for a total of 45 hours weekly, Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, classic and acquired programming for children and families, and is seen in 89 million U.S. homes.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.
