"COPS" CAPTURES BIZARRE BEHAVIOR IN 650th EPISODE CELEBRATION SATURDAY, MAY 20, ON FOX
Currently in its 18th season, the four-time Emmy Award-nominated series COPS will celebrate its 650th episode, making it one of the longest-running entertainment shows on television. The all-new 650th episode will feature sure-to-be-classic "Coast to Coast" segments featuring a high-speed chase, heroin hidden in unexpected places and a naked burglary bust Saturday, May 20 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
In the milestone 650th episode, Officers Derrick Pendergrass and Sgt. Barry Burns of the Chattanooga, TN, Police Department follow a vehicle that was reportedly stolen. When the officers try to pull over the driver, a high-speed chase ensues and eventually the passenger bails out. Upon the conclusion of the chase, the driver is questioned and his behavior triggers the officers to use their taser gun.
The second segment features Sgt. Craig Campbell and other officers from the Pittsburgh, PA, Bureau of Police, detaining a vehicle with three young males inside. The investigation reveals illegal substances inside their car and, shockingly, two of the suspects have hidden needles and/or heroin in a body cavity.
The final segment follows Officers Brian Eckersley and Kurt Vigesaa of the Spokane, WA, Police Department, responding to a burglary call. At the scene, the naked suspect claims he broke into the home because he needed to shave and take a bath. The traumatized residents were understandably surprised to find him enjoying a bubble bath in their residence.
