MTV at Improv Asylum
BOSTON, May 2 -- Hot on the heels of Comedy Central
heading to Improv Asylum to audition Asylum cast members for The Daily
Show, this week MTV is headed to the Asylum as well. MTV is holding a
closed audition casting for a new sketch comedy pilot called Clownin'.
Improv Asylum's current main stage show, "Monkey Trial and Error ...
or, You Say You Want an Evolution," has performances Thursday at 8 pm, and
Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and 10 pm.
"Monkey Trial & Error ..." includes sketches about the evolution of
lying, dying and crying over cigarettes. Throw in a French baby assassin,
an evil professor bent on destruction and a song extolling the virtues of
Intelligent Design and the result is comedy that's evolved above the rest.
The sketches are combined with Improv Asylum's trademark audience-inspired
improvised scenes to create an interactive comedy experience like no other.
"Monkey Trial & Error ... or, You Say You Want an Evolution." Improv and
sketch comedy, intelligent by design.
Improv Asylum has performed over 3,000 shows for over 500,000 people,
making audiences laugh some 25 million times. The acclaimed improv and
sketch comedy company boasts six weekly shows at their 216 Hanover Street
