ELIZABETH TUMULTY NAMED HEAD OF NETWORK DISTRIBUTION, THE CW
Elizabeth Tumulty has been named Senior Vice President, Network Distribution, it was announced today by John Maatta, Chief Operating Officer, The CW, to whom she will report.
In her new position, Tumulty will be responsible for affiliate relations activities at The CW. Tumulty's duties will include managing the daily affiliate -- network relationship as well as developing new ways to enhance and expand that relationship, as it relates to the network's distribution footprint. Additionally, Tumulty will work closely with Peter Schruth, President of CBS Affiliate Relations.
"Elizabeth has a substantial wealth of experience having worked at television stations, in syndication and at The WB in affiliate relations," said Maatta. "She has demonstrated a keen understanding of the issues that stations confront and solutions that work to benefit both the affiliates and the network. Elizabeth is always looking to create win/win situations; which is a critical skill as the broadcast industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace. We look forward to her invaluable contributions in this critical position."
Prior to this appointment, Tumulty served as Senior Vice President, Affiliate Relations and Communications, The WB. During her tenure at The WB, she was an important force in expanding The WB's distribution, improving station performance and developing and implementing innovative programs such as Operation Opportunity, and Regional Sales and Marketing Seminars.
Tumulty joined The WB in 2000 as Director, Affiliate Relations and Communications, and has been promoted four times in six years. Prior to joining The WB Network, Tumulty held positions at Warner Bros. Television Distribution and Twentieth Television Domestic Distribution.
Additionally, Tumulty has held senior broadcast station management posts at FOX and NBC affiliates, during which time the stations enjoyed significant ratings and revenue growth. Tumulty began her career with the Blair Rep Firm in Chicago.
As previously announced, the new CW Network will consist of a six-night, 13-hour primetime lineup including Monday through Friday nights from 8:00-10:00 PM (ET/PT); Sundays from 7:00-10:00 PM (ET/PT); Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM (ET/PT) outside of prime time as well as a Monday-Friday afternoon block from 3:00-5:00 PM (ET/PT) and a five-hour Saturday morning animation block. Altogether, the network will program 30 hours a week over seven days.
