NEW YORK, May 31, 2006 Oxygen gathers the best in pop music in the Nick Lachey Custom Concert Featuring Natasha Bedingfield, the latest offering of televisions only concert series in which viewers decide the set list. One of pop musics hottest stars Nick Lachey, joins one of Britains brightest, Natasha Bedingfield, for an intimate Oxygen concert taping on Friday, June 9th in New York City. The concert premieres Friday, June 16th at 11p.m. ET/PT.
From May 31st through June 8th, Oxygen viewers can log onto www.oxygen.com and vote among Lachey favorites to determine the concerts set list, Bedingfields cover song and a duet for the couple to perform. Also on the site, fans can submit questions for the artists to answer throughout the televised show.
Nick and Natasha are two of todays hottest music talents who are not only incredible singers but amazing songwriters who create honest material, said Julie Insogna, Senior Vice President of Talent and Music Programming. Their listeners identify with the personal songs theyve written because they come from their hearts.
Nick Lachey is an accomplished singer and songwriter who began his musical career alongside his brother Drew Lachey as one part of the male recording group 98 Degrees. The band went on to sell seven million albums due to such hit singles as Invisible Man, The Hardest Thing, Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche), and their smash collaboration with Mariah Carey, Thank God I Found You.
In 2003, Lachey went from pop music favorite to pop culture icon in MTVs Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, a reality series that chronicled his new marriage to fellow singer Jessica Simpson. Later that year, Lachey released his debut solo album SoulO. His second solo album on Jive Records Whats Left of Me was released on May 9, 2006 and debuted on Billboard at #2. The title track is already one of Top 40 radios fastest rising singles of Spring 2006. In recent years, Lachey has expanded his talents to acting with guest appearances on the WBs Charmed, ABCs Hope & Faith, the motion picture Bewitched and 2005s The Hard Easy.
British superstar Natasha Bedingfield is one of the years biggest breakout musical talents. When her debut album Unwritten (now triple platinum) was released in the UK, she made history as the only the third solo singer to debut at #1 (after Annie Lennox and Bonnie Tyler). Natasha and her famous brother Daniel recently made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the only brother and sister to have solo number ones in UK chart history. And last year, Natasha emerged as one of the most exciting and credible new singer/songwriters in the U.S. with her Epic Records release. Her self-penned pop smashes Unwritten (which went to #1), the top ten song These Words and current hit Single have earned her a growing and devoted fan following here in the States.
Past Oxygen Custom Concerts have included LL Cool J, Bo Bice, Patti LaBelle, Trisha Yearwood, Toni Braxton, Ashanti, Kenny Chesney, The Wallflowers, Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, LeAnn Rimes, Melissa Etheridge, The Goo Goo Dolls, Michelle Branch, and Tori Amos.
