A delightful, wholesome experience for the whole family! THE WASHINGTON POST

From Warner Independent Pictures and National Geographic Films March of the Penguins, the 2006 Academy Award-winner, based on the unique survival habits of Antarcticas Emperor Penguins, marches into the hearts of television viewers this coming holiday season only on Hallmark Channel. The true-life tale touched the hearts of millions of moviegoers, has been hailed as one of the best film experiences ever, and has now exceeded $122 million in worldwide box office. March of the Penguins takes us to a destination like no other, David Kenin, Executive Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Channel, said glowingly while holding a plush replica of an Emperor Penguin and its baby.

Mr. Kenin made the statement from Hallmark Channels Studio City, CA-based corporate offices where he announced March of the Penguins is the crown jewel in a powerful package of box-office hits the network has just acquired from Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution.

Mr. Kenin added, The heart of this story is love, drama, courage and adventure set in the most uncompromising region on earth. March of the Penguins is about fidelity and family and the sacrifices made for survival. It is about bringing baby penguins into the world. It is perfect for our brand.

March of the Penguins is an amazing tale filled with humor, alive with thrills, and is narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby). The movie offers breathtaking photography that captures the transcendent beauty and staggering you-are-there drama of devoted parent penguins who, in the face of the fierce polar winter, take turns guarding their egg and trekking to the ocean in search of food. Predators hunt them, storms lash them. But the safety of their adorable, fuzzy chicks makes it all worthwhile, and the Emperor Penguins stave off another icy Antarctic blast, literally risking their own lives to keep their species going. We are thrilled that March of the Penguins will find its first TV home on Hallmark Channel, Mr. Kenin concluded. This is a great movie!
