NBC Primetime Results for the Week of June 12-18

NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 12-18

BURBANK, Calif. -� June 20, 2006 �- NBC averaged a 2.0 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for the week of June 12-18, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC programs accounted for three of the week's top 10 telecasts in adults 18-49. Tuesday's "Last Comic Standing" ranked #5 overall and was the week's #2 non-sports program. Also finishing in the top 10 were Thursday's "Dateline NBC" special (tied for #6) and the Thursday drama "Windfall" (tied for #9).

Primetime averages for the week of June 12-18 in adults 18-49 were ABC (2.5/8), Fox (2.4/7), CBS (2.2/7), NBC (2.0/7), Univision (1.4/5), UPN (0.9/3), WB (0.7/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (8.1 million), ABC (6.8 million), Fox (5.8 million), NBC (5.3 million), Univision (3.2 million), UPN (2.2 million), WB (1.8 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of June 12-18:

* On Tuesday, "Last Comic Standing" scored the #1 non-sports rating of the night in 18-49 and the #2 non-sports rating of the week. "Last Comic" beat every NBC 18-49 result from last summer in the Tuesday 9 p.m. ET hour.

* Also on Tuesday, "Fear Factor" returned to the schedule with a time-period victory and a 35 percent jump over NBC's 18-49 average in Tuesday 8-9 p.m. ET slot last summer.

* Additionally, Tuesday's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was the night's #2 non-sports telecast in 18-49 behind only "Last Comic." Week-to-week, "SVU" improved its 18-49 rating by 29 percent.

* On Thursday, a "Dateline NBC Special," featuring Matt Lauer's interview of Britney Spears, won the 9 p.m. ET hour in 18-49, outscoring ABC's NBA Finals, Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and CBS' "CSI" encore. "Dateline" tied for the week's #6 ranking in 18-49.

* Also on Thursday, "Windfall" jumped 60 percent above NBC's 18-49 average in the time period last summer to tie for the week's #9 rating in 18-49. "Windfall" retained 94 percent of its strong premiere rating of the week before.

* On Friday, an encore telecast of Thursday's "Dateline NBC Special" won the 8 p.m. ET hour in adults 18-49 and other key demographics.

* On Sunday, the debut of "Treasure Hunters" lifted NBC 56 percent above the network's 18-49 average in the Sunday 8-10 p.m. ET slot since the end of the May sweep. "Treasure Hunters" finished #1 for the time period among non-sports programs.

Excluding sports, 18-49 averages for the 2005-06 broadcast year to date are Fox (a 3.9 rating), CBS (3.6), ABC (3.5), NBC (3.0), WB (1.3), and UPN (1.2).

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of live only results through Dec. 25 and "live plus seven day" data since then, except for the two most recent weeks, which are live plus same day.

Additional NBC highlights for the week of June 12-18:

On Monday, June 12 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of game four of the Carolina Hurricanes-Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup Playoffs averaged a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall and a 2.0/3 in households.

On Tuesday, June 13 at 8 p.m. ET, "Fear Factor" (2.7/9 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall) won the time period in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 and all key adult-female categories. These are NBC's second-highest 18-49 and total viewer results in the time period since Feb. 28, behind only an extra hour of "Last Comic Standing" on May 30. "Fear Factor" built on NBC's averages in this time period last summer by 35 percent in 18-49 (2.7 vs. 2.0) and by 29 percent in total viewers (6.8 million vs. 5.3 million). From its first half-hour to its second, the June 13 "Fear" grew by 35 percent (to a 3.1/9 from a 2.3/8) and by 1.2 million viewers overall.

Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (4.0/11 in 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall) was the night's #1 non-sports telecast in 18-49 and #2 for the week among non-sports programs. "Last Comic" matched its highest 18-49 rating in its three telecasts so far this summer and hit the show's highest overall viewer total since June 16, 2004. "Last Comic" also beat every NBC 18-49 result in this time period last summer.

Also on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.1/9 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall) was the hour's top non-sports choice in all key categories and the #2 non-sports program of the night in 18-49 behind only "Last Comic Standing." Versus the same night last year, "SVU" was up 15 percent in 18-49 (3.1 vs. 2.7). Week-to-week, "SVU" was up by 29 percent in 18-49 (3.1 vs. 2.4) and by 3.1 million viewers overall. For the week, "SVU" was primetime's #3 drama and #9 non-sports telecast.

On Wednesday, June 14 from 8-11:13 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of game five of the Edmonton Oilers-Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Finals averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall and a 2.5/4 in households.

On Thursday, June 15 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" (2.0/8 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) won the time period in 18-49 and other key demographics. "Earl" improved by 18 percent on NBC's 18-49 rating in this slot on the same night last year (2.0 vs. 1.7).

Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (2.1/7 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) tied for #1 for the half-hour in 18-49.

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, a "Dateline NBC Special" (3.9/12 in 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall), featuring Matt Lauer's interview of Britney Spears, won the time period in 18-49 and other key demographics ahead of ABC's NBA Finals (3.6/12 from 9-10 p.m.), Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.2/10) and CBS' "CSI" encore (3.0/9). "Dateline NBC" was the night's #1 non-sports telecast in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. "Dateline" increased by 63 percent on NBC's 18-49 average in this time period last summer (3.9 vs. 2.4). From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline NBC" built its 18-49 rating by 26 percent (to a 4.3/12 from a 3.4/11) and its overall audience by 1.9 million viewers.

Also on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "Windfall" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) was the time period's #1 non-sports choice in 18-49, delivering a 60 percent increase over NBC's 18-49 average in this time period last summer (3.2 vs. 2.0). "Windfall" retained 94 percent of the previous Thursday's strong 3.4 rating in 18-49 for the series premiere.

On Friday, June 16 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Dateline NBC" (1.5/6 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall), featuring Matt Lauer's interview of Britney Spears, won the time period in adults 18-34 and 18-49 and women 18-34 and 18-49.

Also on Friday, at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the Thursday drama "Windfall" averaged a 1.3/5 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall. "Windfall" won the time period among women 18-34. At 10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" delivered a 1.6/6 in 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, June 10, NBC Sports coverage of game six of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Edmonton Oilers averaged a 1.2/2 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall and a 1.9/4 in households from 8-11 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, June 18 from 7-7:30 p.m. ET, the overrun of NBC Sports coverage of golf's U.S. Open averaged a first-place 2.9/12 in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall and a 6.4/14 in households.

Sunday from 7:30-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.7/6 in 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall.

Sunday from 8-10 p.m. ET, the premiere of "Treasure Hunters" (2.8/8 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) jumped 56 percent above NBC's 18-49 average in this time period since the end of the May sweep (2.8 vs. 1.8). "Treasure Hunters" was the time period's #1 non-sports choice in 18-49 and other key demographics, topping averages for Fox's comedies and CBS' rebroadcasts of "Cold Case" and "What Women Want." "Treasure Hunters" grew steadily throughout its two-hour time period, building from a 2.6 rating for its first half-hour to a 3.0 for its fourth half-hour. "Treasure Hunters" will air regularly Mondays at 9 p.m. starting June 26, when an original "Treasure Hunters" follows an encore of the June 18 debut telecast.

Also Sunday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the Thursday drama "Windfall" delivered a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall.
