TNT and TBS Win Key Demos for the Week

On the strength of its original series The Closer and Saved, TNT scored a win for the week (June 12-18) in total day among adults 18-49 and 25-54, as well as in prime time among adults 25-54, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, TBS, which aired the week�s top movie among young adults (Old School) and the premiere of the week�s top movie among households (Cheaper by the Dozen), won among adults 18-34 in prime time and scored a close second to TNT among adults 18-49 in total day.
Ratings highlights for TBS and TNT:
-- In prime time, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network for the week among adults 25-54 (1,276,000), while TBS ranked as the top network among adults 18-34 (595,000).
-- In total day, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s top network among adults 18-49 (623,000) and adults 25-54 (638,000), while TBS came in second to TNT among adults 18-49 (605,0001).
-- As reported last week, TNT�s The Closer kicked off its second season Monday, June 12, by setting ad-supported cable records for the best ever performance by a scripted series telecast among persons 2+ (8,278,000) and households (5.5 national rating / 6.72 coverage rating / 6,039,000 delivery).
-- The Closer ranked as ad-supported cable�s top program for the week among persons 2+, households and adults 25-54 (3,571,000).
-- The June 12 premiere telecast of TNT�s new character-driven drama Saved ranks as ad-supported cable�s #1 debut of the year for a new original scripted series among adults 18-49 (2,080,000); adults 25-54 (2,613,000); persons 2+ (5,101,000); and households (3.5 national rating / 4.3 coverage rating / 3,864,000 delivery).
-- TBS�s Saturday, June 17, telecast of the movie Old School ranked as ad-supported cable�s top movie of the week among adults 18-34 (1,007,000), while the network�s premiere of Cheaper by the Dozen took the top movie spot among households (2,218,000).
