UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- July 6, 2006 -- The NBC Universal Television Studio scored 34 Primetime Emmy Award nominations across the spectrum for the 2005-06 season today, led again by NBC�s �Will & Grace� with 10 nominations - more than any other comedy series -- as well as the fast-rising �The Office� which gained five more, including one as Outstanding Comedy Series. In addition, the equally critically acclaimed �House� earned a nomination as Outstanding Drama Series while �Late Night with Conan O�Brien� was nominated again as Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.
The studio�s stars also shone as Steve Carell of �The Office� and Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub of �Monk� each were nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series while Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni (both from NBC�s �Law & Order: Special Victims Unit�) were also nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, respectively.
As �Will & Grace� completed its final season, Emmy winner Debra Messing was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while Emmy winner Megan Mullally was nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Emmy winner Sean Hayes was nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Among the NBC Universal Television Studio programs, �Late Night with Conan O�Brien� had a total of five nominations, �House� had four and �Battlestar Galactica� had three. �Saturday Night Live,� �Law & Order: Special Victims Unit� and �Monk� each had two, and �Surface� had one.
�Will & Grace� - which also paced all comedy series last year - continued its impressive record for Outstanding Guest Star nominations with three more additions this year with Blythe Danner (a repeat nominee), Leslie Jordan and Alec Baldwin (who is also featured in NBC�s new Fall comedy �30 Rock�). The series has now amassed 83 total Emmy nominations.
