CBS extended its summer winning streak to eight consecutive week in viewers and three in adults 25-54 as the Network notched six of the week's Top 10 most watched programs including Number One CSI: MIAMI, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending July 23, week eight of the 2006 summer season.
CBS's two summer reality shows -- ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA and BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS -- either won its time period outright in key demographics and/or posted week-to-week increases in young demographics.
For the week in viewers CBS (7.10m) topped NBC (6.34m), FOX (5.76m) and ABC (4.67m). Summer-to-date in viewers, CBS (7.58m) leads NBC (6.36m), FOX (5.94m) and ABC (5.39m).
For the week in households, CBS (4.8/09) was +17% ahead of NBC (4.1/07), +30% ahead of FOX (3.7/07) and +50% ahead of ABC (3.2/06). Summer-to-date, CBS (5.2/09) leads NBC (4.2/08) by +24%, FOX (3.8/07) by +37% and ABC (3.6/07) by +44%.
For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (2.6/08) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, with NBC). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (2.6/08) and third in adults 18-49 (2.1/07, -0.1 behind NBC and -0.3 behind FOX).
? CSI: MIAMI (R) was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (11.18m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09). CSI: MIAMI was the week's Number One program in viewers.
? BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS TUESDAY (4.5/08, 6.89m) finished first in adults 25-54 (2.9/09), adults 18-49 (2.6/08) and second in adults 18-34 (2.3/08, -0.1 behind FOX).
? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY (3.6/06, 5.93m) posted a 3.1/08 in adults 25-54, 2.8/08 in adults 18-49 and 2.3/07 in adults 18-34. ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY grew in its second half-hour in both viewers and key adult demos: +9% in viewers (6.17m from 5.68m), +7% in adults 25-54 (3.2 from 3.0), +4% in both adults 18-49 (2.8 from 2.7) and adults 18-34 (2.4 from 2.3). Compared to last week, ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA TUESDAY was up +10% in adults 18-34 (from 2.1/07), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.7/08) and even in adults 25-54.
? ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA WEDNESDAY (3.2/06, 4.94m) scored a 2.6/08 in adults 25-54, 2.2/07 in adults 18-49 and 1.4/05 in adults 18-34 with its results program. ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA grew in its second half-hour in both viewers and key adult demos: +5% in viewers (5.05m from 4.82m), +8% in adults 25-54 (2.7 from 2.5), +10% in adults 18-49 (2.3 from 2.1) and +7% in adults 18-34 (1.5 from 1.4). Compared to last week, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.5/08) and even in adults 18-49.
? BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS THURSDAY won its 8:00PM time slot in households (4.4/08), viewers (6.99m), adults 25-54 (3.0/09), adults 18-49 (2.5/09) and adults 18-34 (2.2/09) for the third consecutive week.
? BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS SUNDAY was second in households (3.9/07), viewers (6.14m), adults 25-54 (2.8/08), adults 18-34 (1.9/07) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (2.3/07, with NBC). BIG BROTHER 7: ALL STARS SUNDAY was up +5% in both households (from 3.7/07) and viewers (from 5.82m), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/07) and even in adults 18-34 compared to last week's time period premiere.
