BURBANK, Calif. August 3, 2006 "America's Got Talent," the show that brought the variety format back to television as well as the most-watched show of the summer, has an exciting assortment of special performances lined up for its live-results show airing Thursday, August 3rd (9-10 pm EST). Additionally, the eighth act to move on to the final stage of the competition will be revealed.
"America's Got Talent" judge David Hasselhoff will sing his European single, "Jump in My Car" with his former "Knight Rider" co-star, "K.I.T.T." making a special appearance as well.
Additionally, performers from "ZUMANITY, ANOTHER SIDE OF CIRQUE DU SOLEIL" will bring their unique talent to the "America's Got Talent" stage. Normally performed at the "ZUMANITY" Theatre at New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the show is a provocative cabaret-style production with a Cirque du Soleil twist. The show's seductive theme is highlighted by such traditional circus arts as contortion, acrobatics, aerial stunts and hand balancing. The beauty of the action on stage is enhanced by Cirque du Soleil's signature visual stimuli including extravagant costumes, gorgeous makeup and exquisite lighting and special effects.
Arguably the most daring celebrity act in tomorrow night's lineup, talk show host and comedian Tom Green will make an attempt to skate board through a ring of fire. Green most recently launched "Tom Green Live," the first-ever live worldwide call-in talk show, which is seen on both his website, www.tomgreen.com, as well as www.maniatv.com.
Finally, the voting results from Wednesday's semi-final episode will be revealed at the end of the broadcast, and America will find out which act they chose to become the eighth act to move on to the final stage of the competition.
Hosted by television legend and Emmy-winner Regis Philbin ("Live with Regis and Kelly"), "America's Got Talent" features a colorful array of hopeful future stars -- singers, dancers, comedic performers and unique acts of all ages who have a chance to strut and perform in front of celebrity judge panel Hasselhoff, Brandy and Piers Morgan, who determine which acts make it to the semi-final rounds. During each of the semi-final rounds, one act is chosen by the celebrity judge panel as well as the television viewing audience to move on to the finals. America determines which act will win the million-dollar prize.
