JENNIFER BRESNAN NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING, THE CW
(Burbank, CA) August 11, 2006 - Jennifer Bresnan has been named Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming, The CW, it was announced today by Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. Bresnan will report to Ghen Maynard, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming & Entertainment Content for New Media, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, who also oversees alternative programming for The CW.
Bresnan will supervise the on-going production of The CW's current reality franchises, including �America's Next Top Model,� �Beauty and the Geek,� and the midseason series �The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll,� as well as the development of all future alternative and reality series for the Network.
�Having known Jennifer for a number of years as a reality producer, I'm thrilled to have her join the executive ranks, especially at The CW, whose audience has practically grown up with reality programming� said Maynard. �With her breadth of experience on a multitude of different series, Jennifer brings with her a wealth of talent and creativity as well as tremendous amount of great new ideas.�
Joining The CW with an extensive background in production, Bresnan has worked on an eclectic mix of reality and alternative programming during her career. Her vast experience includes all genres of reality programming, including competition and non-competition series, docudramas, celebrity profiles and entertainment news. Among Bresnan's list of credits, she served as producer on the first season of �American Idol,� supervising producer on Mark Burnett's �The Apprentice: Martha Stewart� and co-executive producer on both editions of �The Swan.� Bresnan was also senior producer on �Paradise Hotel� and �High School Reunion 2.�
Bresnan parlayed her love for music into her early television career, where she acted as producer on numerous segments of VH1's �Behind the Music,� profiling such groups as Oasis, Genesis, AC/DC and Poison. She also served as a producer on MTV's �BioRhythm� as well as VH1 News.
Bresnan earned her bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism at the University of Southern California.
