THE NEW YORK TELEVISION FESTIVAL AND FOX ANNOUNCE "STANDOFF" SHOWCASE

A special premiere screening of the FOX drama STANDOFF will be followed by a Q&A with creator Craig Silverstein and stars Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt

[NEW YORK, NY, Aug. 22, 2006] The New York Television Festival (NYTVF) joined with Network Sponsor FOX today to announce plans for a special event promoting the new one-hour drama, STANDOFF. On Saturday, September 16th, the NYTVF and FOX will present a special screening of the series at 8:00 PM inside the DGA Theater in New York City. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring creator Craig Silverstein and stars Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt. The evening will conclude with an exclusive reception in the DGA Theater lobby.

"The New York Television Festival is thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase a quality new series such as STANDOFF," said NYTVF Founder Terence Gray. "The Festival strives to establish a platform that spotlights the best new shows not only from independent sources, but also at the network level."

Premiering Tuesday, Sept. 5 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, STANDOFF centers on two top-ranked crisis negotiators, played by Ron Livingston ("Sex and the City," "Office Space") and Rosemarie DeWitt ("Cinderella Man"), who are forced to come clean with their secret relationship after it is revealed during a tense hostage standoff that they are sleeping together. STANDOFF combines the crackling romantic relationship at its core with intense drama and humor as these negotiators vow not to cross the line and let their personal feelings get in the way of the job. But they learn quickly that, in life and love, everything is a negotiation. Following the screening, Livingston and DeWitt will be joined by executive producer and creator Craig Silverstein for a brief question-and-answer session about the show.

"FOX is proud to feature STANDOFF at the New York Television Festival," said Craig Erwich, Executive Vice President of Programming for FOX. "The series combines the best procedural elements of great cop shows with the dysfunctional relationship of classic comedic romances like 'Moonlighting,' and Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt bring a chemistry to their characters seldom seen on television."

The NYTVF debuted in 2005 as the industry's first showcase for independent television. In April 2006, the Festival announced the first sale of a program that had premiered in the independent pilot competition to a major cable network. The comedy pilot "Criss-Cross" was purchased by A&E Television Networks and put into development under the working title "I Never Said That." This announcement was followed in June by the sale of a second show, the TV Land Audience Award-winning pilot "Off the Hook," to the OLN network. In addition to these two sales, "The Back Brace," named Best Animation Pilot at the 2005 NYTVF, reached a distribution deal with a French film company to be shown in six European countries. In its inaugural year, the New York Television Festival worked in partnership with the William Morris Agency and in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of New York City.

All Access Passes and Industry Packages are currently on sale by phone or over the Festival website. To order, call 1-866-GO-NYTVF (1-866-466-9883) or visit http://www.newyorktelevisionfestival.com and click on "Box Office."
