FALL TV IS A KILLER! OXYGENS HIT TRUE-CRIME SERIES SNAPPED RETURNS FOR ITS FOURTH SEASON

------

Fourth Season of Snapped Returns With 13 All-New Episodes; Premieres Sunday, October 1 at 10p.m.* With A One-Hour Special

------

NEW YORK, September 12, 2006 Snapped, one of Oxygens top three reality series in primetime in households and among women 18-49, returns for its fourth killer season Sunday, October 1 at 10p.m. Oxygens true-crime series, examining the diverse motives and circumstances that lead women to commit murder, kicks off a season of 13 gripping all-new episodes with a one-hour premiere. This season, the show goes deeper with incredible access to 911 tapes and interrogation room footage, as well as in-depth interviews with law officials, the families of the killers and the victims, and in some cases, the women accused themselves.

The season premiere profiles Sandy Murphy, accused of killing her boyfriend, Las Vegas casino owner Ted Binion. What initially looked like an accidental death, quickly began to look like murder as law officials moved from a theory of a drug overdose to one of pre-meditated murder. Facts in the case emerged to add suspicion to Binions death, including Binions ownership of millions of dollars in hidden silver coins and Murphys secret affair with Binions friend and confidant Rick Tabish. In 2000, Murphy was convicted of murder, conspiracy and theft and was sentenced to life in prison.

On appeal in 2003, Murphys verdict was overturned and she was granted a new trial by the Nevada Supreme Court due to mistakes made by prosecutors in her first trial. In 2004,

Murphy was found not guilty of murder and guilty of theft. She was sentenced to time served and was released. Murphy is currently appealing her theft verdict and maintains her innocence.

Snapped consistently performs well for us because women love the true-crime genre, says Debby Beece, President of Programming and Marketing for Oxygen. Our audience is fascinated by what makes a seemingly everyday woman turn into a killer.

Snapped is created and executive produced by Jupiter Entertainment. Jupiter Entertainment has a roster of successful programming including A&Es City Confidential, History Channels Hands on History, Animal Planets King of the Jungle, and Court TVs Dominick Dunnes Power, Privilege and Justice. Deborah Dawkins serves as Supervising Producer for Jupiter Entertainment with Stephen Land and Zak Weisfeld executive producing. Kimberly Chessler serves as the executive in charge of production for Oxygen.
