ABC.COM EXPANDS SITE FOR FALL WITH ENHANCED FEATURES AND ADDITIONAL CONTENT
New Additions to ABC.com Include Over 100 Short-form Videos Each Week Comprised of Promos, Sneak Peeks, Trailers and Original Cast Interviews and Behind-the-Scenes Clips
Dedicated to expanding its network and channel brands across multiple platforms and connecting viewers with their favorite shows anytime and anywhere, Disney-ABC Television Group announced today that it will offer enhanced features and additional content, including over 100 short-form videos each week, at www.ABC.com.
�We�re adding a significant amount of unique content, especially video, to ABC.com to make it the primary destination for fans of our programming,� said Alexis Rapo, vice president, Digital Media, ABC Entertainment. �We�ve increased the amount of short-form video content including, trailers and originals, by 330 percent from last season. We�re seeing success already -- on the premiere day for �Dancing with the Stars,� 60 percent of the video viewed on the site was for that show alone!�
Fresh to ABC.com this year are new sites for five returning series (�The Bachelor,� �Dancing with the Stars,� �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,� �Grey�s Anatomy� and �Lost�) and sites for four new series (�The Knights of Prosperity,� �The Nine,� �Six Degrees� and �Ugly Betty�). ABC.com recently launched its enhanced broadband video player, winner of an Interactive Emmy in the category of Enhanced or Interactive Programming-New Delivery Platforms, as a permanent feature on the website. The player offers full episodes of seven primetime series, including �Lost,� �Grey�s Anatomy,� �Desperate Housewives,� �Ugly Betty,� �Six Degrees,� �The Nine� and �The Knights of Prosperity,� the day after they premiere on ABC.
