LEGENDARY OSCAR, EMMY AND TONY WINNING ACTRESS LIZA MINNELLI GUEST STARS ON 'LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT'
NEW YORK � October 2, 2006 � NBC announced today that legendary Oscar, Emmy and Tony-winning performer Liza Minnelli will make a special guest appearance on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," as the grieving mother of a young actress and beauty queen found murdered. The episode is slated to air in November. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on NBC.
In the episode, titled "Masquerade," currently shooting in New York City, Minnelli plays Beth Harner, a former beauty queen whose daughter Amberleigh was found murdered on Halloween night 1992, and the case returns to the public eye when a pedophile in exile confesses to her murder.
Minnelli is a rare triple threat whose Oscar for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in the 1972 film "Cabaret," Emmy for the 1972 television special "Liza with a Z," and a special Tony award in 1974 as well as a second Tony, for "The Act" in 1978, make her one of the most honored and talented performers of her generation. Minnelli also received a 1990 Grammy Legend Award and Golden Globe awards for both "Cabaret" and the telefilm "A Time to Live."
