LEGENDARY COMEDIAN JERRY LEWIS MAKES A RARE DRAMATIC GUEST STAR APPEARANCE ON NBC'S 'LAW AND ORDER: SVU' TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10, (10 P.M. ET/PT)
NEW YORK � October 5, 2006 � Legendary comedian Jerry Lewis makes a rare and dramatic guest star appearance on NBC's 'Law and Order: SVU' as a homeless man who may have a clue to the brutal rape and murder of a mother and daughter. The episode, 'Uncle" will air (Tuesday, October 10 at 10 P.M. ET/PT).
When a homeless man is found in New York's Central Park and brought in for questioning by Detectives Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Beck (Guest star Connie Nielsen), one member of the Unit is dealt an emotional blow as Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer) recognizes the homeless man as his long lost uncle, Andrew. This powerful episode deals with many societal issues including the treatment of the mentally ill and the aged.

Jerry Lewis is one of the most successful performers in show business and has received global acclaim for his unique ability and style with both comedy and drama. He has received numerous awards capped by the Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 1995 Emmy Awards. Earlier this year, he was roasted by The Friar's Club in New York City and has been the National Chairman for the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 1951. Every Labor Day weekend, he hosts the world's most successful televised fund-raiser, The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, raising millions of dollars for "Jerry's Kids" and educating the public about MD. In 1977, Jerry was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his humanitarian work.
Mariska Hargitay, Chris Meloni, Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, B.D. Wong, Diane Neal and Tamara Tunie also star in "Law & Order: SVU."
