NEW YORK, October 18, 2006 -- Hey Nation, want to own a piece of Stephen Colbert? Last night, Colbert closed the celebration of his one year anniversary of the Emmy-nominated "The Colbert Report" by announcing that he will be auctioning off his on-set portrait on eBay, with all proceeds going to charity. The famous portrait hangs above the fireplace on the set and features a regal Stephen Colbert standing in front of a portrait of a regal Stephen Colbert (photo available upon request). It is currently posted on the eBay auction block with bids being accepted through Friday, October 27. The winning bid will be announced on-air on Monday, October 30 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Save the Children.
"I've already saved the world. How hard could saving the children be?" Colbert said.
Repeat episodes air Monday-Thursday at 1:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and Friday at 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (all times ET/PT). "The Colbert Report" regularly airs Monday-Thursday at 11:30 p.m. following "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
"The Colbert Report" is the first project developed under COMEDY CENTRAL's first-look agreement with Jon Stewart's Busboy Productions, Inc. The show is produced by Busboy in association with Spartina Productions, Inc.
