Star Studded Episode Showcases Rare Dramatic Appearance by Funnyman Bob Saget
NEW YORK - November 20, 2006 - Bob Saget, Catherine Bell, Chris Sarandon and Bernadette Peters guest-star on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," episode "Choreographed" (Tuesday, November 28th at 10 PM ET/PT). The star-studded cast join regular Det. Eliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) for a dramatic episode that features infidelity and murder in the arts.
When a woman is found dead in Central Park, and medical examiner Warner (Tamara Tunie) can find no apparent reason for her death, Stabler (Meloni) begins a solo investigation, which leads him to the victim's husband, Wesley (Sarandon), who owns an established dance troupe. The case takes a turn as Wesley's good friends Glenn (Saget) and Naomi Cheales (Bell) come under suspicion. Stabler's investigation unravels a case of drugs, infidelity and an elaborate plot that impacts everyone involved in the troupe. Stabler also discovers Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is back in town, so he pays her a visit. Attorney Stella Danquiss, who defends Glenn, is played by (guest star Peters).
Saget is known world-wide for his television roles and set a precedent by simultaneously starring in two top-ten primetime series -- on the eight year run sitcom "Full House" and the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos." He can currently be seen on NBC in a new game show, "1 vs 100," where he works without a script, adlibbing on this hour format, with people trying to answer trivia questions to win one million dollars. Saget was recently seen in the wide-released documentary feature film, "The Aristocrats," where his appearance received raves from The New York Times, The New York Observer, and Entertainment Weekly.
Tony Award-winning actress Peters has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances on stage and television, in concert, and on recordings. Peters received both the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for her performance in Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical "Song and Dance". In June 1999, Peters earned her second Tony Award, her third Drama Desk Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her portrayal of Annie Oakley in the hit Broadway revival of "Annie Get Your Gun".
Bell most recently appeared on Sci-Fi's "The Triangle", produced by Bryan Singer and Dean Devlin. For nine seasons, 16 million Americans tuned in every Friday to watch the stunning Catherine Bell on the award winning adventure drama "JAG".
Sarandon has had a successful television and film career appearing in many memorable roles. Some of his notable work includes Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "The Princess Bride", and "Dog Day Afternoon."
Hargitay, Meloni, Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, B.D. Wong, Diane Neal and Tunie star in "Law & Order: SVU."
