NEW YORK, January 3, 2007 -- Demetri Martin brings his thoughtful humor and artistic talent to COMEDY CENTRAL in the World Premiere of "Demetri Martin. Person." This all-new, one-of-a-kind stand-up special premieres Sunday, January 14 at 10:00 p.m.
From the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas, Martin combines his signature non sequitur humor with original animated short films, drawings and music. From sharing his hilarious "data-findings" and diagrams with the audience to playing guitar and harmonica, Martin personalizes his all-new special with the utmost creativity. It's a laugh-out-loud hour of comedy with surprises around every corner.
Voted one of the "25 Funniest People in America" by Entertainment Weekly, Martin (www.demetrimartin.com) is taking the comedy world by storm with his unique brand of humor. After leaving NYU Law School to pursue his career as a writer/comedian/artist/musician, the multi-talented comic has performed all across the country, most recently in the "COMEDY CENTRAL LIVE! Demetri Martin: These Are Jokes Tour" in support of his first stand-up CD/DVD "These Are Jokes" which was released via COMEDY CENTRAL Records in September. Martin's "Trendspotting with Demetri Martin" has been a featured segment on the Emmy Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" since December 2005 and, prior to that, he performed and wrote for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Martin, a Yale graduate, was also featured in his own half-hour, stand-up episode of "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents" in 2004 and is currently the new face of Microsoft's Windows Vista campaign (www.clearification.com).
"Demetri Martin. Person" was executive produced by Robert Morton and Demetri Martin and directed by Jay Karas. Elizabeth Porter, Senior Vice President of Specials and Talent for COMEDY CENTRAL, served as the executive in charge of production.
