The N's Degrassi: The Next Generation, winner of both a Television
Critics Association Award and a Teen Choice Summer Series Award, is a
fictional, dramatic series that tackles tough issues in a realistic way.
Degrassi introduces a new generation of kids going through the trials and
tribulations of adolescence in the 21st century at the newly refurbished
Degrassi Community School. The series delves into a variety of topics
including: eating disorders, teen pregnancy, religion and cheating. In its
sixth season, Degrassi continues to be The N's highest-rated program. The
season-six premieres in fourth quarter 2006 averaged more than 400,000
total viewers, and the show remains the only breakout hit in digital cable.
South of Nowhere, The N's second highest-rated series behind Degrassi,
is a fictional story about a contemporary American family and their
multi-faceted journey of self-discovery. Set in Los Angeles, the series
chronicles the five members of the Carlin family as they try to define
themselves and make sense of their lives while they undergo a huge
transition -- moving from a small town in Ohio to the big city of Los
Angeles. The series recently garnered its highest-rated telecast ever with
the premiere of season two on November 17, earning a 2.2 teen rating in its
8:30 p.m. (ET) time period. Season-to-date, South of Nowhere delivers more
female teens during its Friday 8:30 p.m. (ET) play than any other
ad-supported cable network.
Beyond the Break is an intense dramatic series combining surf and sun
as it drops in on the competitive world of professional surfing. Four
passionate women with diverse backgrounds will pursue their dreams of
becoming professional surfers. But in order to remain afloat, each of them
must overcome issues to capture surf stardom from WaveSync, a struggling
surf company eager to reinvigorate itself.
