Cross-Divisional Initiative Spans Internet Streaming,
Download-on-Demand, In-Flight Entertainment, I-Tunes and DVD
In an unprecedented cross-divisional marketing initiative, Fox Broadcasting Company and 20th Century Fox Television will flood everywhere from cyberspace to air space with four uncut episodes of its new coming-of-middle-age comedy THE WINNER in an aggressive bid to build buzz and encourage sampling prior to the shows first network broadcast. Viewers can access the sneak peek of the Seth MacFarlane and Ricky Blitt-produced comedy series starring Rob Corddry (The Daily Show) on Familyguy.com, FOX.com, Fox Interactive Medias Fox on Demand on MySpace.com and the Fox Television Station Groups MyFox local Web sites in 24 owned-and-operated markets, as well as in the air on Jet Blue flights and on the ground at Circuit City stores via a promotion with Fox Home Entertainment. The floodgates open on Friday, Feb. 16 on Familyguy.com, two weeks prior to the shows broadcast premiere Sunday, March 4 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The same four episodes will then be available Tuesday, Feb. 20 on FOX.com, MySpace.com and the MyFox local Web sites.
Additionally, all six episodes of THE WINNER will be available for download from a number of electronic retailers such as iTunes for $1.99 per episode starting Feb. 20; Jet Blue passengers can watch an episode on flights through the month of March; and, beginning Feb. 25, Circuit City customers who buy select 20th Century Fox TV DVDs will also receive a free DVD of two episodes of THE WINNER.
"THE WINNER episodes are going to be everywhere and hopefully seen by so many people that at least six or seven of them may want to sleep with me, commented series creator Ricky Blitt. Sure, it may take tens of millions of viewers to deliver those odds, but I'm upbeat by nature."
THE WINNER is a new comedy from FAMILY GUYs MacFarlane and Blitt. The show follows Glen Abbott (Corddry), who is truly the biggest kid on the block. The show proves that growing up isnt just for kids anymore and gives hope to late-bloomers everywhere as Glen embarks on his wonder years at the tender age of 32.
The following four episodes of THE WINNER will begin streaming on Familyguy.com on Friday, Feb. 16, at 9:00 AM PT. Streaming then launches on FOX.com, MySpace.com (http://www.myspace.com/fox) and MyFox local sites on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 9:00 AM PT.
Single Dates (airs Sunday, March 4, 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX): When the love of his life, Alison (Erinn Hayes), invites Glen over for dinner, he is elated until he's told by a co-worker that divorcees have urges and he will be expected to "put out." Embarrassed by his non-past and fearful it will drive Alison away, Glen decides to visit a "massage parlor" to get a quick tutorial before his date.
[EDITORS NOTE: Single Dates will encore in late night on Saturday, March 10 (Midnight-12:30 AM ET/PT) following an all-new MADtv featuring Rob Corddry.]
What Happens in Albany, Stays in Albany (airs Sunday, March 11, 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX): Alison is unable to accompany Josh (Keir Gilchrist) on a weekend trip to the State Spelling Bee in Albany, so she asks Glen to chaperone. Since no one knows them this far from home, Glen and Josh decide to reinvent themselves to attract the ladies. Glen wears a toupee and creates the persona of Lance Manley, a studly airline pilot, while Josh pretends to be a cocky multiple-spelling-bee champion.
Glens New Friend (airs Sunday, March 18, 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT on FOX): When Josh starts hanging out with a new friend at school, Glen is determined to find his own new friend. Unbeknownst to Glen, his new friend is a gay man with a smoldering crush on him.
Hot for Teacher (airs Sunday, March 18, 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX): When Glen poses as Josh's "dad" for a parent-teacher conference, he comes face-to-face with his old homeroom teacher, Miss Burko (guest star Katey Sagal), who ends up giving him a private, albeit very belated, lesson in love.
THE WINNER comes from 20th Century Fox Television and is executive-produced by Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD) and Ricky Blitt (FAMILY GUY, The Ringer).
