Season Two of the Powerful Police Drama, The Closer, Arrives on DVD May 29, 2007 from Warner Home Video

Kyra Sedgwick Earned a Golden Globe Award for her Remarkable Performance in the Shows Sizzling Second Season

Four-Disc Set Includes All 14 Episodes from Season Two Along with All-New Bonus Features

BURBANK, Calif. -- Cable televisions critically-acclaimed series, The Closer, returns to DVD when Warner Home Video (WHV) releases The Closer: The Complete Second Season on May 29, 2007. The four-disc collection features all 14 episodes from the series second season, along with bonus material, and will retail for $39.98 SRP.

An offbeat personality, a tough-as-nails approach and a track record as one of the countrys leading investigators these are just a few of the traits exhibited by televisions next great detective, Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, played by Golden Globe Award-winner and Emmy nominee Kyra Sedgwick in The Closer. In her first lead role in a dramatic series, Sedgwick plays a CIA-trained detective who has been brought from Atlanta to Los Angeles to head up the Priority Murder Squad, a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. Brenda is tapped to lead the team because she is a world-class interrogator, and when it comes to obtaining confessions, she is a closer. But her quirky attitude and hard-nosed approach to her job sometimes rub her colleagues the wrong way, as does the fact that she is a tough-minded Southern woman in a department dominated by men.

In the shows second season, challenges both personal and professional await Brenda, as her relationship with Fritz (Jon Tenney) elevates to a whole new level, her mom (Frances Sternhagen, ER, Sex and the City) comes to visit, and Kyra Sedgwicks real-life husband Kevin Bacon directs her in the season finale. Additional guest stars throughout the season include John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise, The Nine), Ray Wise (24, Twin Peaks), James Patrick Stuart (CSI, Andy Richter Controls the Universe), Debra Mooney (Everwood, The Practice), William Daniels (Boy Meets World, Knight Rider) and more.

Bonus features on the DVD set include the featurette, Breaking Down the Closer, a gag reel and deleted scenes.

Regarding the announcement, Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing, said, The Closer continues to be a tremendous success with the second seasons ratings out-performing the strong ratings of the first season. In turn, we are thrilled to be able to offer consumers this DVD. Kyra Sedgwicks performance in this show is brilliant, and we are certain consumers will view this title as a must-have, whether they are looking to catch up or simply for an introduction to this remarkable series.
