SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE TO FEATURE DIVERSE DOUBLE BILL FOR APRIL

Hot Up-And-Coming Star Shia LaBeouf hosts April 14 with musical guest Avril Lavigne

Award-Winning Actress Scarlett Johansson Returns April 21 with musical guest Bjork

NEW YORK, April 11, 2007 "Saturday Night Live" welcomes two of Hollywood's hottest young stars and two of the biggest names in pop music for its April shows.

On April 14, Emmy winner Shia LaBeouf makes his SNL debut. One of the most sought-after young actors working today, LaBeouf will star in the upcoming thriller "Disturbia" and the eagerly anticipated summer movie "Transformers." LeBeouf was recently seen in the indie drama "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints" and the critically praised "Bobby." Other credits include "The Greatest Game Ever Played," "Constantine," "I, Robot" and "Charlie's Angels II: Full Throttle." LeBoeuf was also star of the "Project Greenlight" production "The Battle of Shaker Heights." He made his film debut in the hit family film "Holes." He's also known to millions from his earlier, Daytime Emmy winning title role in Disney Channel's series "Even Stevens."

Returning to "SNL" for her third appearance is multi-platinum musical guest Avril Lavigne. The Grammy nominee and seven-time Juno Award-winner will perform songs from her eagerly awaited third album "The Best Damn Thing." Its debut single "Girlfriend" is already a hit, driven by digital sales, the track debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 (her highest debut yet). "The Best Damn Thing" is the pop-punk dynamo's follow-up to her triple-platinum moodier record "Under My Skin" and her 16 million-selling, youth-culture defining 2002 debut record "Let Go."

The following Saturday, April 21 finds screen siren Scarlett Johansson returning to Studio 8H. With more than a decade of work under her belt, the four-time Golden Globe nominee and BAFTA winner, Johansson has built a solid reputation as one of Hollywood's most talented young actresses, as seen in the critically acclaimed "Lost In Translation" opposite Bill Murray (which won her a Best Actress prize at the Venice Film Festival). Johansson has recently been seen in Woody Allen's "Scoop," "The Black Dahlia" and "The Prestige." Other credits include Allen's "Match Point," "The Island," "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "In Good Company," "The Man Who Wasn't There," "Ghost World" and her debut in "The Horse Whisperer." She'll next be seen in the screen adaptation of the popular book "The Nanny Diaries."

Joining Johansson on the show is cutting edge musician Bjork. Hailing from Iceland, Bjork has established herself as one of the most innovative and unique figures in alternative music. This is her second appearance on 'SNL,' performing selections from her soon-to-be released sixth CD "Volta." The critically acclaimed performer once again branches out with an international group of musicians supporting her ranging from critically acclaimed vocalist Antony (of Antony and the Johnsons), African collective Konono No 1 and the ubiquitous and successful Timbaland (who contributed the beats to the record's debut single "Earth Invaders."). "Volta" is a decidedly more upbeat record after her previous more serious pieces including her Oscar nominated work in the film "Dancer in the Dark."
