CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER VISITS THE HIT ABC DRAMA SERIES "BROTHERS & SISTERS"
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger visited the set of the hit ABC primetime drama series "Brothers & Sisters" on Monday, April 16. The Governor acknowledged The ABC Television Studio, executive producers Ken Olin, Jon Robin Baitz and Greg Berlanti, plus the cast and crew of the program for their commitment to keeping production in California for the freshman season, recognizing that production companies have choices about where to film, and shooting here translates to the generation of more jobs and revenue for the state.
Since July 2006, 25 episodes of the drama series, which airs Sundays (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on The ABC Television Network, have been filmed exclusively at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank and on-location around Southern California.
Boasting an all-star cast including Sally Field, Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe, "Brothers & Sisters" is a compelling one-hour drama about the loving but highly dysfunctional Walker family, a collection of five adult siblings, their significant others and their opinionated mother, Nora Walker. The show explores what it means to be a family in the twenty first century and how these brothers and sisters balance their own lives and cope with the death of their father and the discovery of his lifetime of betrayal. Lowe plays the dynamic Republican California Senator Robert McCallister, with whom Kitty Walker (Flockhart) has recently become professionally and romantically involved.
ABC's freshman "Brothers & Sisters" leads its veteran CBS drama competition in its time period this season by 18% among Adults 18-34 (3.3/9 vs. 2.8/8). ABC dominates Sunday's 10 o'clock hour with the new drama across each of the women demos, beating NBC ("Sunday Night Football"/"Crossing Jordan"/"The Apprentice") and CBS ("Without a Trace"/"Cold Case"): W18-34 (4.7/13), W18-49 (6.2/15) & W25-54 (7.1/16). "Brothers & Sisters" was the second-highest rated new series to debut in Fall 2006 among Adults 18-49 (behind only "Heroes") and stands as the top new series on any network on any night in the 10 o'clock hour with young adults (4.3/11). Season to date, "Brothers & Sisters" is the sixth-highest-rated scripted TV series with upscale Adults 18-49 and ranks as the No. 1 new series in the top Nielsen income category -- Adults 18-49 in homes with $100K+ annual income (5.26 rating). It's the No. 1 TV program overall this season in terms of annual "median income" of its Adult 18-49 audience ($68,000 annual - tie).
"Brothers & Sisters" stars Calista Flockhart as Kitty, Rachel Griffiths as Sarah, Sally Field as Nora Holden, Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden, Patricia Wettig as Holly, Balthazar Getty as Thomas, Dave Annable as Justin, Matthew Rhys as Kevin, John Pyper-Ferguson as Joe, Sarah Jane Morris as Julia and Kerris Lilla Dorsey as Paige Whedon.
Ken Olin ("Alias," "thirtysomething"), Jon Robin Baitz ("The Substance of Fire," "The West Wing") and Greg Berlanti ("Everwood") are executive producers. The series is produced by The ABC Television Studio.
