NEW YORK, April 23, 2007 -- COMEDY CENTRAL has signed comedian Brian Regan to a multi-platform talent deal including stand-up tours, stand-up specials, a development deal and DVD release, it was announced today by Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president, specials and talent, COMEDY CENTRAL.
"We are thrilled to be working with Brian, an incredible performer whose unique brand of humor resonates with a diverse audience. After watching him for years, it's a real pleasure to get to know him and work with him on this scale," said Porter. "With this deal, COMEDY CENTRAL continues to maximize its reach to bring the best and brightest comedians in the business to our audience over multiple platforms."
"COMEDY CENTRAL is known for their unique comedy, both with their shows and their comedians. To be included in that company is very flattering," said Regan.
"Brian Regan is one of America's premier stand-up comedians. Teaming him with COMEDY CENTRAL is simply the perfect partnership," said Rory Rosegarten, Regan's personal manager and executive producer. "We're thrilled."
The multi-platform deal with Regan includes a network development deal, theater-size tours and two original, one-hour stand-up specials to premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL. The first of the two stand-up specials was taped last week at the Barclay Theater in Irvine, CA and will debut on Sunday, June 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment is slated to release this one-hour special on DVD in the fall. The second one-hour special will tape and air in 2008.
"Brian Regan In Concert: A COMEDY CENTRAL Live Event" will kick off on Friday, June 8 at the North Fork Theatre in Long Island and will travel to more than 40 cities nationwide including San Diego, New Orleans and Philadelphia.
