NEW YORK � July 3, 2007 � Bravo has tapped three music industry veterans to helm the network's live 18-hour coverage of "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis" from 9AM-3AM ET on 7/7/07. Former MTV host Dave Holmes, model-turned actress and former MTV VJ Karen Duffy and VH1 presenter Aamer Haleem will host the broadcast from New York's Giants Stadium, providing viewers with exclusive interviews from inside, outside and backstage at the event, as well as "Best of" moments from the nine legendary concerts from seven continents. The performances scheduled include Madonna, The Police, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson, Melissa Etheridge, Faith Hill, Fall Out Boy, Shakira, Kanye West, Enrique Iglesias, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others.
Anchoring from Bravo's box at Giants Stadium, Holmes (MTV's "Total Request Live," "Reno 911") and Duffy ("Husbands and Wives," "Dumb and Dumber") will be on hand to cover the entire 18-hour broadcast, from pre-concert preparations to musical acts from around the world to celebrity interviews. In addition, Holmes will blog live with up-to-the-minute updates throughout the concerts. Fresh off his coverage of the Princes Diana Concert, Haleem (VH1's "VSpot Top 20 Video Countdown," "LIVE 8" and "Bands Reunited") will report from backstage, capturing interviews with artists and all the backstage excitement during this historic event.
In addition to concert footage, Bravo brings viewers interviews with musical artists, actors, green activists, politicians and more. Throughout the broadcast, public service announcements will offer environmental messages from celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Will Ferrell, Jessica Biel, Ben Affleck, Holly Hunter, Naomi Watts, among others. The 24 hours of music across all seven continents will deliver a call to action and the solutions needed to answer the call. Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign led by The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, former Vice President Al Gore, to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action.
