TV Guide Announces Veteran Producer Bob Bain Will Produce the Company's Online Video Awards

Live Awards Program to Take Place on December 1, 2007 at Santa Monica's Barker Hanger for Telecast on TV Guide Network on December 5, 2007 at 8PM

LOS ANGELES -- Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMST), a leading media, entertainment and technology company, announced today that Bob Bain has been signed to executive produce TV Guide's first Online Video Awards event.

The TV Guide Online Video Awards will recognize the best and most innovative professional video programming, created specifically for the Web. The awards will be handed out in a live event on Dec. 1 in Santa Monica, California at the Barker Hanger. TV Guide Network will broadcast a two hour special program on Wednesday, December 5th at 8PM.

Bob Bain is one of Hollywood's leading awards show producers. He has served for a number of years as executive producer of the FOX Network's Teen Choice Awards and Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards. He has also produced other high profile events including several Miss America pageants, the Billboard Music Awards, and many others.

TV Guide's Online Video Awards will recognize the best professionally-produced programming and other entertainment content that aired online, or in other digital media, between January and October, 2007. Starting in October, consumers will be able to access the nominated clips in all categories at www.tvguide.com/videoawards, and will be able to vote in a wide range of categories including Best Original Comedy Series, Best Original Drama Series, Best TV Parody, and Best User-Generated Video. Fans will determine the winners in all categories, with TV Guide editors selecting the nominees, as well as a few special honorees.

A full list of categories and other details will be announced soon, along with details about fan voting, which will take place at www.tvguide.com.
