NBC.COM BEGINS STREAMING 'LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN'
"Conan" First Broadcast Network Late-Night Entertainment To Stream on Web
BURBANK, Calif. August 30, 2007 NBC Digital Entertainment is now streaming "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on NBC.com. It was announced by Vivi Zigler, Executive Vice President, NBC Digital Entertainment.
"Conan's unique and clever humor is perfectly suited for the online audience," said Zigler. "Now, fans can enjoy the show and get a good laugh even if they can't stay up late."
"Late Night" is the first broadcast network late-night entertainment program to stream on a broadcast network website. Streams of the nights' episodes become available by 12noon (PT) the same day, or about the time Conan's fans are waking up. The show has an enthusiastic online fan base, which is well served by a number of unique offerings ranging from the original animated series "Pale Force" on NBC.com to the internet sensation, HornyManatee.com.
Referred to as "the most cunning talk show around" by Entertainment Weekly, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" begins its 15th season on September 13, 2007. In addition to dominating the ratings in its time period, every aspect of "Late Night" has been praised in the media, from Conan himself ("modest, wry, self-effacing and demonstrably the most intelligent of the late-night comics," The Washington Post) and the show's comedy ("original and often breathtakingly silly," said the New York Daily News), to the Max Weinberg Seven ("the best band in late-night TV," said The Washington Post).
"Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is from Universal Media Studios in association with Conaco and Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels and Jeff Ross are the executive producers. Allan Kartun directs. Mike Sweeney is head writer.
