NEW YORK, September, 24, 2007 -- After beating Stephen Colbert for this year's Emmy for Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program, Tony Bennett will set foot into "Colbert Nation." Bennett will perform with his band and sit down with Colbert to discuss his tome The Ultimate American Songbook on "The Colbert Report" on Wednesday, September 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Tony Bennett's performance marks the first time a full band has appeared on "The Colbert Report." Other musicians who have performed on the show include Peter Frampton, Chris Funk (The Decemberists), Toby Keith, Barry Manilow and Willie Nelson.
Repeat episodes air Monday-Thursday at 1:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and Friday at 8:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (all times ET/PT). "The Colbert Report" airs regularly Monday-Thursday at 11:30 p.m. following "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
